I think that it is crucial for any artwork in the dining room to set a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Dining is after all a social and interactive exercise, so the art should reflect this sentiment, if not encourage it. I've been told on numerous occaisions that my paintings, full of people socializing and interacting, achieve that goal.
